The VELTRUP Roto-Fan® System

A rotating high-pressure water cleaning device with precisely synchronized forward feed of the nozzle. It works like a water drill and cuts out the cement in small pieces with rotating water jets. The cleaning procedure is fast and safe. The drill pipes are evenly cleaned to the white metal by using this procedure.

Typical cleaning rates of blocked pipes of 1 m/min depending on the nature of the cement can easily be achieved. The "coiled tubing" normally does not affect the efficiency and speed of the cleaning procedure.

The VELTRUP Roto-Fan® System can be used for cleaning a wide range of oilfield tubes and pipes, as well as "Christmas Trees", Vertical or Horizontal cleaning of up to a length of 400 m in one piece give option for solving a lot of cleaning problems on oil-rigs.

The system is easy to handle even in a harsh environment.

• no dismantling of tubes and no transport to the washing-site.
• 26 U-tubes were cleaned in no more than 17 h working time insitu.
• Shut-down-time of production-unit was significantly cut down from originally 2 months to less than 24 hours.

The VELTRUP Roto-Fan® System

A rotating high-pressure water cleaning device with precisely synchronized feed of the nozzle this problem was solved successfully.

The tube was opened approximately. in the middle. An adapter tube was fitted to allow an easy entrance for the rotating hose.

A dump hose was fitted from the pipe bridge down to the container to allow the dirt to run down easily without splashing. The encrustation was cut into cubes of approx. 0.5 cm grain size. The liquid passed a screen to take out most of the solids, which themselves were recycled into the production process. The water was sucked away by a vacuum truck for controlled disposal. The total job was completed within only 6 hours.

The screen had to be continuously cleaned. 5 bid shovels of solids had to be removed per minute.
